One Voice Now Has A Blog!

Hello friends!
I'm happy to introduce our new blog, One Voice. It's just getting started but we'll have plenty of information soon on how you can have us sing for your next event. We would love to bring a refreshing call to worship for you "so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." Rom 15:6

ULW

The following is from a two part message that my pastor put on Facebook. (I cut and pasted the parts I wanted to share.) The fact that most of my adult life seems to be as a student at the University of Learning to Wait makes it timely and applicable. I hope you can glean from it too.

"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!" (Habakkuk 2:3 LB)...

"In order to build your faith, God will give you a dream, then He'll urge you to make a decision, but then He'll allow a delay, because in the delay He matures you and prepares you for what is to come.

The truth is you'll have difficulties while God delays. This isn't because He doesn't care about you or that He's forgotten your circumstances; rather, it's one of the ways He pushes you toward the deep end of faith.

As God delays, you'll face two types of difficulties: circumstances and critics. This is a natural part of life. God designed it this way because He knows we grow stronger when facing adversity and opposition...

God does this because He is building our faith and character. When we finally come to a place where the difficulties become so bad, where we've never reached our limit, where we've tried everything and exhausted all our options, it is then that God begins a mighty work through us: "I know, even though you are temporarily harassed by all kinds of trials and temptations. This is no accident—it happens to prove your faith, which is infinitely more valuable than gold" (1 Peter 1:6-7 PH)."

Job Update

Lets back up a few weeks first... Rex has been interviewing with a company who seems very interested in him. He went for third round interviews not too long ago that resulted in him being mentally drained. Making a good impression with seven different people for seven plus hours has a tendency to do that! They told him to expect a phone call on Monday of this week.

Sure enough, the call came only to inform him that one of the people who is a deciding vote was out of town so they wouldn't know anything for sure until Friday - today...

He gets another phone call this morning and he finds out that they want him to come in Monday morning for more interviews.

It's one big game of cat and mouse! He's so ready to have this over with. If you think of him lift him up in your prayers so that he can press on until this whole issue has been resolved. Hopefully I'll have some good news to report in a few days.

Hey!

Out of town again but wanted to say hi to everyone. Can't wait to share where we've been and what we've been doing but I want to wait until I can add pictures - it'll make it so much better - have to wait until we get back home to do that though. So I leave you in suspense...
Have a Happy 4th! Enjoy the fireworks!

Summer... 'tis the season

I am so far behind and need to catch up with all my bloggy friends. Just wanted the faithful three of you to know that I'm still here. I thought summer break was supposed to slow things down a bit not make me more busy! Between VBS, vacationing, and fighting for computer time with an 8 year old who loves to play games or an out of work husband that's surfing for a job, it makes it hard to find spare time to post. When I do get a free minute I'm usually too tired to want to write about anything. It may take me a while but I plan to read up and see what's been going on with you. I have been thinking about you and praying for you though!
